What reaches the bank
On a delivered order, the median Meesho payout was 97.1% of the listing price and the median Flipkart payout 97.5%. Meesho takes no commission; its main cost is the gap between the shipping charge and the shipping revenue it adds. Flipkart took no commission on 87.6% of orders, in line with its zero commission on products under ₹1,000.
The spread is wider on Flipkart: a quarter of its orders paid out under 94% of the listing price, against under 96% on Meesho, mostly on higher-priced products that still carry commission and fees.
How fast each one pays
| Days from dispatch to payment | Meesho | Flipkart |
|---|---|---|
| Fastest quarter of orders | 12 days or less | 3 days or less |
| Median | 13 days | 4 days |
| Slowest quarter | 14 days or more | 11 days or more |
Meesho pays about a week after delivery, so the wait is steady: almost every order lands 12 to 14 days after dispatch, and 45% of payouts arrive on a Monday. Flipkart starts the clock at dispatch and pays on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; most orders are paid within a week, but a quarter wait 11 days or more.
RTO and returns
| Orders | RTO | Customer returns |
|---|---|---|
| Meesho | 15.0% | 13.1% |
| Flipkart (all) | 20.8% | 14.5% |
| Flipkart, without Shopsy | 19.8% | 14.9% |
| Shopsy orders (8% of Flipkart orders) | 31.4% | 10.2% |
Shopsy orders arrive in the Flipkart account and ship like any other Flipkart order, but almost one in three came back as RTO. In the payment files, RTO carried no reverse shipping fee on either marketplace, while a customer return cost ₹157 with GST on Meesho for a parcel up to 500 g, and about ₹209 with GST on Flipkart at the median.
Which is better for a seller?
- Cash flow: Flipkart, paying most orders within a week of dispatch.
- Fewer parcels coming back: Meesho, with lower RTO; on Flipkart, watch Shopsy orders closely.
- Fees: about even on low-priced products; Meesho stays commission-free above ₹1,000, where Flipkart charges.
- Many sellers run both, so one stock count and one place for orders, labels and returns matter more than the choice.
How we measured
- Source: the payment files and orders of sellers using OneClickOMS, read from their Meesho and Flipkart accounts. Totals and medians only; no seller or buyer is shown.
- Payments: delivered orders with no refund, paid in the 90 days to 7 November 2026. Share of listing price = bank settlement ÷ listing price.
- RTO and returns: orders placed 9 August to 7 October 2026 that ended delivered, RTO or returned by 7 November 2026. Shopsy orders are those Flipkart marks as Shopsy in the payment report.
